Major Highlights-Revised UG Curriculum
Anna University has launched a revised B.E. curriculum(R2017) with Choice Based Credit System from the academic year 2017-18. This revised curriculum mainly focuses on employability enhancement of students.
RVS Merit Scholarship to Students
RVS merit scholarship for the students who scored more than 90% in higher secondary exams. Under this scheme, a sum of Rs. 5.4 crore is sponsored to the economically weaker meritorious students under this scheme during this the academic year 2017-2018. More than 100 students are benefitted.
Job Fair 2019
As part of placement activities, a Placement drive was organized at our campus on February 13, 2019. There were 26 Core and Non-Core Companies who participated in the Job Fair. 124 students were given placement issued with offer letters. Some of the placed students got internship as part of project work. Now they are undergoing training in the selected companies and will be complete the project work for the current academic year.
Skill Development Initiatives
This initiative is operated (2017-2019) in collaboration with National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), New Delhi (a unit of Union Ministry of Information and Technology, India) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Under this initiatives, the following skill oriented courses are offered to the youths of Tamil Nadu at free of cost.
TNOU Approved Add-on Diploma Programmes
Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) is established to benefit those who have been deprived of and/or denied the access to higher education especially destitute, physically challenged, working men and women, economically weaker sections of the society, and those who discontinued education for various reasons, etc. TNOU and RVS Padhmavathy College of Engineering and Technology have signed MoU (2017-2020) to design new add-on diploma programmesby keeping mind the safety measures of engineers in industries. In this MoU, it has been planned to offer the following one year diploma programmes under the name of RVS Community College. 1.Diploma in Fire Safety 2.Diploma in Industrial Hygiene 3.Diploma in Industrial Safety
Conferences/ Symposium/Workshops/Seminars
A workshop on Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp was organized to the students of EEE and ECE during 11.01.2018 to 13.01.2018. Mr. S. Victor Paul, Managing Director, ventured with GITMS and Dr. P. Edreeena, HR Manager, ventured with PETMS delivered guest lecture. Around 100 students were participated and involved on various activities to improve their Skills on Entrepreneurship.
Guest Lectures
Guest Lecture on Engineering Graphics Dr. T. Mothilal, Associate Professor in Mechanical Department, Vellamal Institute of Technology had delivered lecture on ‘Engineering Graphics’ at our College campus on 02.11.2017. All first year students were attended his lecture. It was extremely informative and improves the theoretical and practical knowledge for betterment of students. Guest Lecture on Python Mr. Neelagandan, Associate Professor in Computer Science and Engineering haddelivered lecture on ‘Python’ at our College campus for all first year students. It was extremely useful to the students, as this subject is newly launched by Anna University in its regulation R2017. Guest Lecture on Linear Integrated Circuits Mrs. P. Kalaivani, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology had delivered lecture on Linear Integrated Circuits to the students of II year EEE. Guest Lecture on Power System Analysis Mr. S. Sathishkumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology had delivered lecture on Power System Analysis to the students of III year EEE.
